The INE has just published the new series of Statistics on Annulments, Separations and Divorces, with data from 2016. One of the most outstanding trends in this series refers to the percentage of divorces in which custody of minor children is attributed to both parents (shared). The percentage of shared custody in Spain has tripled in just nine years, from 9.6% in 2007 to 28.3% in 2016. These measures hide great differences between regions, for example Catalonia (more than 40%) and Andalusia (17.1%).
