The Codosera is a town of around 2,000 inhabitants, located in the westernmost part of Extremadura, on the border with Portugal. Its inhabitants have become infected with the Iberian feeling, they are Spanish, but they also feel Portuguese. The border is only symbolic, the inhabitants of one side and another (besides speaking Spanish and Portuguese) chapurrean a language ‘border’ in which they understand only them.
