Beatriz Galindo was born in Salamanca around 1465. She was the daughter of Juan López de Gricio, a hidalgo of Zamorano origin. She was known by the nickname of Latina. Not much is known of his life until his entry into the court of Queen Elizabeth in 1486. He is supposed to have studied in Salamanca. He soon demonstrated his amazing intellectual ability in terms of grammar and Latin. His parents were not rich, but they were able to educate their children properly and they thought of sending Beatriz Galindo to a convent so that she could continue her studies.
